Each row, column and “area” (3*3) should contain the numbers 1 to 9 however:
- Number can appear only once on each row
- Number can appear only once on each column
- Number can appear only once on each area (3*3 slots)
There is only one correct answer for each tile, for each game.

Tile Hints are available. You may set them yourself as a method of keeping notes on what the tile may or may not be. By pressing the "Tile Help" button, you may have the computer automatically calculate what possible numbers the tile may be.
You may also Solve the puzzle, will display all of the correct values, but you won't be able to continue to work on it afterward. Solving the puzzle will also let you see how many tiles you got right or wrong. You may also choose a new game if you'd like.
The "Difficulty" of the Sudoku
The layout of the tiles is no easier or harder from one game to the next, and despite what some may think, each puzzle is solvable.
The challenge comes from two different things:
- how many tiles are initially revealed and
- how fast you can solve the puzzle!
Selecting a easy, medium, hard, or impossible difficulty will make the game reveal more or less tiles when it starts up. Each new game however will generate a new board layout for you.
